<p>PURPOSE:To determine the proper replacing time of an adsorbent, by a method wherein the concn. of a malodorous component in a gas to be treated is detected and the cumulative amount of the malodorous component subjected to adsorbing treatment is calculated from the detected value to display the relation between the calculated value and the life of the adsorbent. CONSTITUTION:The concn. of the total sulfur compound in a gas 1 to be treated is measured by a measuring device 6 and the amount of the total sulfur compound per a unit time adsorbed by an adsorbent 4 is calculated from the product with a treating gas amount. The amount of the already treated sulfur compound is integrated in time ralation by an operation and display apparatus 7 and, by comparing this already treated amount to the amount of a total saturated adsorbent determined from the inherent value and the amount of the adsorbent 4 used in a deodorizing tower, the life of the adsorbent 4 is evaluated to display a time carrying out the replacement of the adsorbent by the operation and display apparatus 7.</p> |
