<p>The duct for disposing of rainwater from a roof comprises a drain-pipe inlet lying in the plane of the roof, which is covered by a larger disc. The size of the disc and its height above the roof are determined by the free flow of liquids, so that air is not admitted into the inlet during a downpour. The water flowing into the space below the disc forms a continuous turbulent current which does not change direction as the amount of water increases.</p> |
