The brush element(20) is driven in an orbital path, as distinguished from a more conventional angularly reciprocating motion. The brush may be motivated by a water powered nutating action motor(21) mounted in the handle of the unit. An orbital output motion of a nutating drive motor is converted to rotary motion, and this in turn is converted back to an orbital motion in the brush or working element. This arrangement has advantages of greater simplicity, while the previous arrangement has advantages of greater compactness. At least a portion of the motive fluid may be diverted to be discharged into the bristle area(49) of the brush to provide a moistening and rinsing action. |
