PURPOSE:To vary the concentration of a developer and to control the liquid level in the tank of a wet developing device, by performing concentration control over both supplementation of a toner and supplementation of a supply solution. CONSTITUTION:When a stirring pump 3 operates, some of a developer 2 is sent to a developing dish and the remainder is sent to a cell 15 for concentration measurement. The light transmissivity of the developer illuminated by a lamp 16 is measured by a photodetecting element 17, whose output is supplied to an amplifier 18. When the light transmissivity is greater than a set value, i.e. when the solution concentration is less than a set value, a valve 8 is opened to supplement toner from a toner bottle 6 for supplementation, thus increasing the concentration of the developer. When greater, on the other hand, a supplement solution is supplied from a supplement solution bottle 10 to decrease the concentration. |
