PURPOSE:To obtain the liquid fuel combustion wick preventing generation of soot and tar by making the wick mainly of ceramic fiber such as silica alumina and heat-treating the tip end thereof. CONSTITUTION:The main wick 1 of cylinder form is constituted by ceramic fibers of silica-alumina system combined by an oil-resisting organic joining agent such as polyvinyl acetate, polychloroprene, and polyacrylic ester. A sucking-up wick 2 is made cloth or cord of polypropylene or cotton. The upper end 1a of the main wick 1 is heat-treated at such a high temperature as 600-800 deg.C so as to remove an organic joining agent contained in the main wick 1. Thus the generation of soot and tar can be effectively prevented. |
