NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formulaI[R<1> and R<2> are -CONH-aryl, -CONH-alkyl, -CONH-arene-alkoxy; R<1> and R<2> incorporate to form a ring group of formula II]or its valence isomer of a quadricyclan having the skelton of formula IV instead of formula III. EXAMPLE:3-(Phenylcarbamoyl) norbornadiene-2-carboxylic acid. USE:Photochemically solar energy-storing substance; it shows energy absorption power to the radiation of more than 300nm wavelength and is readily restorable with a catalyst. PREPARATION:The compound of formula V is dissolved in dried acetone. Then, anilin is added thereto, followed by DCC to form white precipitate of dicyclohexylurea. The mixture containing the precipitiate is stirred at room temperature and filtered. The filtrate is concentrated and recrystallized to give the compound of formulaIwhere R<1> is -CONH-aryl and R<2> is COOH. |
