A cooling apparatus is provided for garments such as waistcoats each of which is intended to cool a wearer thereof. The cooling apparatus comprises a zone (4), which can be cooled, and within that zone (4) one or more holding device (6) from which hangers (7) for garments are suspended. The garments can include a liquid, e.g. water, which freezes in the cooling apparatus, so that, in use of each garment, the latent heat of fusion of the liquid absorbs heat from the wearer. <IMAGE> |
