<p>A blocked magenta dye forming coupler is disclosed having the formula <CHEM> wherein Q represents a group of non-metallic atoms necessary to form a magenta dye forming coupler together with a nitrogen atom; and R1-@H-R2 represents a blocking radical which, after reacting with an oxidized developing agent, is released from said blocked magenta dye forming coupler where R1 represents Z-NHCO-, Z-CO- or Z-O-CO- wherein Z is a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring, which may have a condensed ring; and R2 represents X-NHCO-, X-CO-, X-O-CO, NC-, O2N-, HOOC- (wherein X is an alkyl or an aryl radical) or a radical as defined in R1.</p> |
