When extruding a foamable material into vacuum chamber extruder(12), die(4), and closure(40) for chamber are mounted to be movable to and from chamber. In use extruder, die and closure can be moved as unit or separately to close chamber, vacuum is created, and material is extruded into chamber for expansion.
