PURPOSE:To prepare L-histidine in high yield, by cultivating a bacterium capable of producing L-histidine obtained by adding a vector integrated with a specific gene field to a bacterium belonging to the genus Bacillus. CONSTITUTION:A vector integrated with a gene field participating in resistance to histidine antagonist, obtained from a variant belonging to the genus Bacillus having resistance to histidine antagonist is added to a bacterium belonging to the genus Bacillus to give a bacterium capable of producing L-histidine, and it is cultivated. L-Histidine accumulated in the medium is collected. The hitidine antagonist most likely inhibits the propagation of the bacterium belonging to the genus Bacillus, but possibly the inhibition is wholly or partially released if L- histidine is present in the medium. 1,2,4-Traizolealaine, 2-thiazolealanine, etc. may be cited as the histidine antagonist. |
