PURPOSE:To focus a stereo acoustic image in front of the user similarly to actual musical instruments or the like, by directing the signal transmission from a diaphragm toward the approximately longitudinal direction of his face. CONSTITUTION:A coil 2 and a diaphragm 3 are provided in the direction orthogonal to the direction of a burr 8 in the front part of a case 13 covering the outside of a concha 7, and a direction 14 of sounds from the diaphragm 3 is allowed to coincide with a longitudinal direction 10 of a head 6. Sounds from the diaphragm 3 come from the front of the ear and are reflected by the concha 7 and reach the eardrum, and an acoustic virtual image 15 is focused in front of the face because sounds come in the longitudinal direction 10 of the face, and thus, this headphone is so effective that the user hears sounds as if he heard an actual musical performance. Consequently, the unnaturalness of focusing of a synthesized image above the head in the conventional headphone is resolved, and the stereo acoustic image is focused in front of the user similarly to the position of an actual musical instrument or the like. |
