The invention relates to a device for introducing a sliver or yarn on roving machines for the starting of a spinning operation or in the event of a yarn break, in which the sliver or yarn is guided in a closed line. The object on which it is based is to provide a device which takes over the threading operation and which makes the work on the roving machine easier. The duration of the threading operation is reduced. The labour requirements become less. An extension of the running time and therefore an increase in performance occur. A cleaning effect is obtained at the same time. This object is achieved in that an adjustable tube is arranged centrally in a blowing nozzle arranged above the drawing unit, connected by means of a movable hose to a pipe system and having three or more supporting legs. The invention achieves the technical effect that the introduction of the sliver or yarn no longer depends on the skill of the attendance crew, but the sliver or yarn is transported through the closed line in the wing when the machine is at a standstill.
