PURPOSE:To make illuminating light from a light source incident to the whole incident end face of an optical fiber flux, without causing a light quantity loss, by additionally concatenating an optical reflecting body such as a cylindrical reflecting body having a specified shape, etc., on the light source side input end face of the optical fiber flux. CONSTITUTION:A titled device consists of a lens 10 for making illuminating light from a light source 9 incident to an optical fiber flux 1, and the optical fiber flux 1 which has provided an optical reflecting body such as a single fiber 17 with a clad 17' on an incident end face 4, and is constituted so that the inequalityIis satisfied in case when a light intensity distribution of a calescence point image of the light source, which is formed through the lens 10 has a peak, and the inequality II is satisfied in case when the light intensity distribution of the calescence point image is flat. Provided that air converted length to the calescence point image from the incident end face of the optical reflecting body, length of the optical reflecting body, a refractive index of the optical reflecting body, an angle made by a marginal beam and an optical axis, height of the calescence point image, and an effective radius of the optical fiber flux are denoted as S, (d), (n), (alpha),Iand (r), respectively. In this way, it is possible to make the illuminating light incident to the whole incident end face 4 of the optical fiber flux without causing a light quantity loss. |
