PURPOSE:To prepare against the destruction of stored recording end location data, by storing the count value of length of rewinding in a stroage circuit over again as the recording end location of business message on a recording medium after restoration of a power supply. CONSTITUTION:When a power supply is restored after stored data are destroyed through the power down of power failure and battery backup power supply, a control circuit 3 gives a reset signal 18 to a counter 17, clears the counter value and sets a counter 17 to the increment mode with an up/down signal 19. A tape 12 is rewound to the beginning to count it simultaneonsly. The count value at the end of rewinding represents the length of tape rewinding and the preceding recording end position, then a write signal 21 is given and this count value is stored in a storage circuit 20. |
