The catalyst compn. for polymerizing α-olefin consisted of liq. type-magnesium compd. (I) which was soluble to hydrocarbon solvent and did not contain org. aluminum and transition compd. (II), and org. aluminum compd. (III). As polymn. catalyst, III only was put into polymn. zone in no connection with I and II, or the compns. formed from the addition of III to the mixt. of Iand II (or the mixt. of I, II and III) were supplied to the polymn zone.
