PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of back fire in a catalyst combustion type gas turbine combustor and enable the operation of the gas turbine at a partial load to be made by a construction wherein a flame holding unit, the shape of which can be changed from the outside, is provided in a fuel injection unit and a premixing tube is fitted to the leading end of a forwardly and backwardly movable fuel supply pipe. CONSTITUTION:When a rod driving unit 11 is actuated to advance a rod 10, an inner flame holding plate 15 and an outer flame holding plate 14 change into a petal like shape so that the fluid passing through a flame holding unit 7 may produce a low speed eddy current zone in its succeeding flow. As a result, the flame for preheating formed by the fuel injected through fuel injection nozzles 6 is held. When the catalyst combustion zone and the central part are preheated by the heat of combustion, the rod 10 is allowed to move rewards to return the flame holding plates 14, 15 into their original positions to put out the flame for preheating. If the amount of fuel to be supplied is in turn increased and the premixing tube 9 is moved rearwards then the premixing air is dispersed into its surrounding and the change from partial loads to the full load can be made. By this arrangement, it is possible to prevent back fire and operate the gas turbine at a partial load. |
