<p>PURPOSE:To enable a reading process of an original of an optional format, by designating directly on the original both a region where the information on the original is delivered as the character code information and a region where the information on the original is delivered as the image information, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A main scanning is performed at a scanning part to the surface of an original in the direction parallel to the line of the original, and a subscanning is carried out in the direction vertical to the original line. A scan controlling circuit 11 stores a scanned pattern in a line buffer 10 and at the same time gives a scan to the stored pattern to detect a control mark. With the control mark the switching is carried out among the character read mode, the image input mode and the non-read mode respectively to perform the corresponding processes. The signal transmitted by the control of the circuit 11 receives the character recognition 12 as well as the compression of data and is fed to a data editing circuit 14. The the signals received the editing of data are delivered after edited into a data format.</p> |
