This invention consists of a method and device for setting the transport position of a plough wing 16 which is connected to a vehicle 1 by means of a sliding gate 13. Known front ploughs of trailing type have certain design shortcomings. When the plough wing which is thus oblique in relation to the sliding gate's longitudinal direction is lifted up to a transport position, the part of the plough wing which is closest to the vehicle will be lifted a relatively short distance from the road path. This is not satisfactory because the plough wing and the road can come into contact with each other if the surface is uneven, with subsequent damage to both the road and the plough wing. The purpose of this invention is to palliate this shortcoming by, when the plough wing 16 is transferred to the transport position, the sliding gate 13 being twisted in its longitudinal direction which means that the plough wing's 16 lower edge will primarily be parallel with the road. <IMAGE> |
