<p>An anhydrous nail varnish comprises a solvent contg. a aopolymer resin derived from (1) at least one monomer of formula (I) CH2=C(R1)COOR2, (where R1 is H or Me and R2 is 1-18C opt. branched alkyl, a mono- or dihydroxy alkyl having 2-4C, a glycidyl gp. or -(CH2)l-OR', where R' is (m)ethyl and l is 3 or 4) and (2) N-vinylsulphonamide, 4-styrene sulphonamide, acrylamide, methacrylamide and/or an unsatd. aminoalkyl amide of formula (II) CH2=C(R3)CONH-L-NR4R5 (where R3 is H or Me, L is 2-6C alkylene or substd. 3-4C alkylene and partic. gps. of formula -C(Me)2- or -CH2-C(Me)2-, and R4 and R5 are H, Me, Et), the units (II) being opt. quaternised or salified. The varnish is easy to apply, is storage stable, has good gloss and adhesion to the nail and is non-aggressive w.r.t the skin.</p> |
