The invention relates to seating and lying furniture having two padded parts which can be used optionally as seating furniture or as a bed. A pull-out frame can be pulled out forwards above a lower frame serving as bed frame. Arranged on the bed frame is a resting frame whose upper side case engages by means of a notch in an angular profile of the pull-out frame, the pulling-out movement of said pull- out frame being limited by a stop attached to the side case. A backrest cushion is connected via a flap to the rear upper edge of the seat cushion. A triangular backrest support cushion for supporting the backrest cushion is arranged between the flap and the backrest cushion. It is possible by this construction to design the backrest cushion to be relatively high so that the width of the bed is also increased when the furniture is folded out.
