The invention relates to a device on hospital beds and wheelchairs which is intended for extraction of odours arising in the digestive tract of the patient or which are emitted from pus foci and wound sites. For this purpose, the inlet orifice of an extraction device is arranged on the hospital bed or wheelchair, especially in that area in which the odours arise. The extraction device is constructed in a manner resembling a vacuum cleaner but contains a chemisorption filter package which can be arranged at the same site at the dust bag in a vacuum cleaner and can be exchanged in the same manner. The suction piece of the device arranged on the hospital bed or wheelchair can also be exchangeable or have an insert treated with antiseptic substances.
