摘要 |
PURPOSE:To provide an electrochemical power generating element having high efficiency and stabilized operation for a long period of time by using a porous carbon elecdrode having grooves in a negative electrode substrate which constitutes a unit power generating element so that a bank of gas flowing groove stores an electrolyte to increase holding of the electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode is formed by carrying a negative catalyst layer 5 in a porous carbon negative electrode substrate 2 having a reducing gas flow path 12 which made its side and bottom waterproof with fluoride resin. A positive electrode is formed by carrying a positive catalyst layer 4 which accelerates oxidation reaction in a porous carbon fiber positive electrode substrate 3 which made waterproof treatment with fluorin resin such as tetrafluoroethylene. A electrolyte matrix layer 6 is formed by impregnating a concentrated phosphoric acid solution in powder such as silicon carbide, tantal oxide. The electrolyte matrix layer 6 is placed between the negative electrode and the positive electrode with their catalyst layers faced and they are bonded together to form a unit power generating element. This unit power generating elements are stacked mutually using a carbon stacked element substrate 1 having an oxidizing gas flow path 11 in a B-B' direction to form an electrochemical power generating element. |
