BASE WIRE FEEDER IN DIP FORMING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent the unstability in feeding of a wire owing to fluctuation in the diameter of the wire by making one of the diameters of the grooves of paired rolls in the roll drive of a dip forming device smaller than the diameter of the wire to be fed and making the other larger than the same. CONSTITUTION:A base wire blank 1 is passed through a shaving die 3 by a main drive 2 to strip the sheath thereof and is fed by a roll drive 5 into a crucible 4 where molten copper is stuck on the surface. The diameter of one of the grooves of mutually opposed rolls 7 of 3 pairs of rolls 7 in the roll drive is made smaller than the diameter of the base wire blank and the diameter 9 of the groove of the other roll 7 is made large than the diameter of the base wire blank. Even if the diameter of the blank 1 fluctuates on account of wear of the die 3, the base material blank is fed always in engagement with both side edges of the groove 8 and the bottom surface of the groove 9, and is fed stably to the crucible 4 without sagging between the drive 2 and the drive 5 and without disengaging from a leveling roll 6.
