<p>1. A spacing and stabilizing device for ladders which comprises two removable bearing elements (3a and 3b) each of which has, at one of its ends, two cylindrical portions (6 and 7) spaced apart from each other by a distance equal to the spacing between two adjacent rungs (2) of the ladder, or a multiple of this spacing, and having an outer diameter substantially equal to the inner diameter of the ends of these rungs, characterized in that the two bearing elements (3a and 3b) are joined together by a chain (11) a first end of which passes through an adjusting hole (9-10) having one part (9) allowing the chain (11) to slide freely and a second part (10) allowing the chain to be immobilized, said adjustment hole being provided in one of the elements and in that the chain (11) ends in an end-piece (12) whose dimensions are greater than those of the hole so that the chain cannot be separated from the bearing element, the second end of the chain being either fixed to the other bearing element or connected thereto in the same way as the first end of said chain is connected to the first bearing element.</p> |
