PURPOSE:To obtain a long-life photoreceptor of improved memory characteristic by providing a layer of specific dyes directly or via an insulation characteristic layer on a conductive substrate, and providing a polyvinyl carbazole layer contg. halogenated aliphat. hydrocarbon, etc. on the dye layer. CONSTITUTION:''Indanthrene Blue GCD '' (produced by BASF, West Germany) which is the vat dye expressed by the formula is formed on a conductive substrate to about 0.01-10mu thickness by vapor deposition or coating and drying of the dispersion thereof. A coating soln. contg. >=1 kind among halogenated aliphat. hydrocarbon, helogenated acyl compd., halogenated keto compd., hydrogen donative compds. (org. and inorg. acids) at 0.01-10pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. polyvinyl carbazole is coated on the dye layer, and is then subjected to thermal aging at 150 deg.C. Thus the photoreceptor which has better memory characteristic, a longer life and higher sensitivity than those of the prior art is obtained. If an insulation characteristic blocking layer is formed between the conductive substrate and the dye layer, the higher memory characteristic and sensitivity are obtained. |
