PURPOSE:To increase the capacity of purifying waste water and to curtail an aeration amount, by letting waste water and microbes flow into the front cell of an aerating vessel comprising three cells, making an aeration amount in the intermediate cell larger than that in the front cell and an aeration amount in the rear cell smaller than that in the front cell. CONSTITUTION:Waste water and a part of separated microbes are introduced into the front cell of an aerating vessel comprising three cells and aerated with an amount of air smaller than that in a conventional aerating vessel. An aeration amount in the intermediate cell is made at about two times an aeration amount in the front cell, an aeration amount in the rear cell is made at about a fewth of an aeration amount in the front cell, and the entire aeration amount throughout the aerating vessel is made at about 50-70% of a conventional one. Water discharged from the aerating vessel is optionally subjected to post-treatment such as coagulation with microbes, and then microbes in the waste water are separated. A part of the separated microbes is returned to the front cell of the aerating vessel, while the excess part is incinerated or converted into compost.
|
