<p>In an axial flow filtering apparatus for filtering oil, having one or more filter elements (24a, 24b, 54) of the wound tissue type, wherein the oil passes through the filter elements (24a, 24b, 54) to a collection channel (28, 64), and then to an outlet port (20, 110), the improvement comprising a flexible, non-porous membrane (42, 72), configured to be disposed in a sealing relationship about the circumference of the filter elements (24a, 24b, 54), and completely overlapping the collection channel (28, 64), thereby preventing oil from entering the collection channel (28, 64) from the exterior of the filter elements (24a, 24b, 54).</p> |
