PURPOSE:To produce a tuyere for converters of which the ceramic pipe is difficult to break by binding the ceramic pipe inserted into the inside pipe of double pipes consisting of steel pipes into one body with the metallic inside pipe by means of molten metal and fused ceramics. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic pipe 7 of high alumina base or the like which fits loosely into a tuyere pipe 1 which is an inside pipe made of steel having an outside pipe 2 is inserted into said tuyere pipe and molten metal or fused ceramics is packed 6 densely into the spacing between the pipe 1 and the pipe 7 to bind the pipe 7 and the pipe 1 into one body, by which the abrasion resistant tuyere which does not easily break even when the pipe 7 is cracked by thermal impact, etc. is obtained. Low m.p. metals such as copper or copper alloys are preferably used for the above-mentioned molten metal, and when said metals are cast, the metals can be packed densely. Materials that form inorg. glass are usable as the packing material. |
