<p>PURPOSE:To improve the reliability at recording and reproduction, by providing a servo head for a magnetic head body in which many thin film heads are assembled and performing recording and reproduction of information through the forming of a servo track on a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape 1 is wound on a winding reel 7 from a supply reel 2 via an upper/lower restricting pin 3, a magnetic head body 4, a capstan 5 and a pinch roller 6. The body 4 is incorporated with many of thin film heads 11 and a servo head 12. They are interchangeable with each other, and each pitch interval is accurately arranged on the body 4 so that a plurality of tracks with high accuracy can be recorded. One or two servo tracks are recorded in parallel with magnetic tracks on the tape 1 with this servo head 12 and at reproduction, the body 4 is controlled positively on the magnetic tracks with a signal from the servo tracks.</p> |
