PURPOSE:In an instrument for measuring the degree of verticality of the wire of a wire-cutting spark erosion machine through an upper and a lower constact sensors, to accurately measure the degree of verticality of the wire, by enabling the relative displacement of the upper and the lower contact sensors. CONSTITUTION:A pinion is rotated by turning a knob 28 clockwise, so that a slider 24 is moved down by a rack 26. When the knob 28 is turned counterclockwise, the slider 24 is moved up. Since an upper contact sensor 12 is secured on the slider 24, the distance B between the upper contact sensor and a lower contact sensor 14 can optionally be adjusted. The distance B is indicated by graduations 30. When a wire 22 is vertical, it is in contact with the upper and the lower contact sensors 12, 14 and an upper and a lower contact indication lamps 16, 18 are both lighted to show that the wire is vertical. |
