<p>An appts. for the application of electrical pulses to hot or cold water under pressure comprises a hollow metal cylinder forming one electrode; a metal rod passes through the centre of the cylinder and forms the second electrode. Electrical potential is applied intermittently between the electrodes when liq. is flowing through the device by interlocking the power supply to a flow detector built into the device. A movable magnet is lifted by the liq. differential pressure when flow occurs through the device and falls, when there is no flow, into a position where a magnetic switch to open, tripping the power to the electrodes. Used for descaling piping and/or softening water.</p> |
