PURPOSE:To provide an easily applicable nematocide containing dichloro-diisopropyl ether and other compound as active components, available economically at a low cost, and exhibiting excellent effect to exterminate various nematodes living in the soil and parasitic on plants compared with the use of each component separately. CONSTITUTION:Dichlorodiisopropyl ether of formulaI(b.p.=187 deg.C) which is an easily applicable nematocide for vegetables, tea, mulberry, and orchard and having low toxicity to man, beast and crops, is mixed with methyl isothiocyanate of formulaII (b.p.=119 deg.C) which is a volatile liquid useful as an insecticide used in the form of oil solution or emulsion. The ratio of the ether to the isothiocyanate is 12:1-1:8. The liquid mixture may be impregnated into the soil, covered with soil after impregnation, scattered in the seeding furrow and covered with soil, or mixed with soil. It can be applied to the field of growing stage as well as before seeding. |
