The subject-matter of the invention is the integration of a video recorder section into the housing of a conventional television receiver, in such a manner that the operating panel and the drive are inserted into the housing cover of the television receiver. The remaining electronics of the video recorder section are located at any place in the further free space in the housing. The advantageous possibility of operating the video recorder part in the proposed solution is improved even further by folding the operating panel up within a certain angular range which also provides a possibility of viewing the display panel from a greater distance. Further developments of the system according to the invention relate to the switching of programme sources for television and tape reproduction and matching the time constant for the horizontal synchronisation to the different operating conditions, and to the utilisation of a common remote control for both programme sources and switching between them.
