The invention relates to field regulator desired value loops for synchronous alternators and creates a new circuit arrangement of such loops. The idea of the invention is that the sliding contact of the desired value potentiometer, which forms the first output of the circuit, is connected on the one hand to the output of the constant current source and on the other hand to the input of an evaluation circuit. The output of this evaluation circuit forms the second circuit output.
