1. Exterior rearview mirror controlled from the interior of a vehicle, the rearview mirror comprising a base (7) fixed on the vehicle, a swivel control device housed in the base and a mirror (2) mounted in a cup (1) adapted to retract along the vehicle under the action of a lateral impact, the said cup being held against the fixed assembly formed by the base and the control device, applied by an elastic means, and bearing by three supports (A, B, C) arranged in a triangle, characterized in that the cup (1) may swivel and is pivotable about one of its supports (A) remaining fixed with respect to the base (7), and in that a second of said supports (B) is movable and displaceable by means of the swivel control device. |
