The electrodynamic energy converter having a DC generator and an electrically coupled DC motor has a significantly simplified design as a result of the avoidance of the normal commutators. For this purpose, an electrically conductive solid rotor and at least one stator are provided, which has uninterrupted poles on both sides of the rotor. A magnetic field is produced over the rotor and a voltage is induced in the entire rotor body.
