Method and arrangement for improving speech

A method for improving speech for persons suffering from a stammer includes a time-delayed transmission of the person's own speech to the hearing organ via a transmission channel for audible signals. The speech is transmitted in a frequency range whose upper limit frequency is between 0.6 and 1.5 kilohertz, and the transmission channel for the audible signal is blocked in the pauses between the speech fragments enunciated by the person. An arrangement for speech improvement contains a microphone (1), a delay block (5) and a telephone (4) connected in series, and also an element (11) to control the frequency spectrum of the signal which is transmitted from the microphone (1) to the telephone (4), a switch (7) to interrupt the transmission of the signal from the microphone (1) to the telephone (4) and a threshold circuit (8) whose input is connected to the microphone (1) and whose output is connected to the control input of the switch (7). The invention can be used in medical practice for the treatment of logoneuroses. <IMAGE>
