PURPOSE:To improve the wet state of ink at the front surface of nozzles, to increase the stability of ink jetting, and to improve printing quality, by forming a thin film layer having good ink wetting property at the front surface of the nozzles. CONSTITUTION:Piezoelectric elements 4 are driven by a signal from a control circuit, and ink is jetted from the nozzles 2. At this time, the ink flows from the nozzles which are not driven due to the effect of vibration. The jetted ink, whose speed is low, is brought back to the front surface 5 of the nozzles by the surface tension. The flows of ink are accumulated and collected at the front surface 5 of the nozzles. However, since a thin nickel film or the like having the good wetting property with the ink is formed in the front surface of the nozzles, part of the wet ink is immediately returned to the inside of the nozzles, and the rest of the ink flows to a discharged liquid preserving container through a porous member 6 by the effect of gravity and surface tension. Since a thin ink layer uniformly exists at the front surface 5 of the nozzles, the jetting stability is excellent. |
