The invention relates to a method and an assembly device for a diaphragm brake cylinder. According to the invention, a connection between the housing and the fixing tube of a diaphragm brake cylinder is produced by applying an adhesive to the touching surfaces of the fixing tube and the housing and flanging the housing around the fixing tube. In order to be able to maintain particular, very narrow tolerances between the area of contact of the fixing tube with a brake anchor plate and the cap of the piston rod of the diaphragm brake cylinder, the invention provides an assembly device which has a first stop for the fixing tube and a second stop for the piston rod. The assembly device can be part of a flanging station.
