<p>PURPOSE:To reproduce liquid metal easily even if its flow passage is blocked by packing hollow steel balls having the same specific gravity as the liquid metal, and providing a means for stirring the steel balls. CONSTITUTION:A liquid metal device consists of an external container 1 which has a liquid metal inflow pipe 4, an internal container 2 which is arranged with a specific gap with the inside of the external container 1 and also has a drain pipe 13 at the lower end part, a liquid metal outflow pipe 4 at the upper part, and a packing material layer 6 for impurity removal from liquid metal internally, and a cooling means consisting of a cooling body inflow pipe 9 and cooling pipe 3 provided to the external container 2. A magnetic field generator 14 is fitted to the body of the cooling pipe 3, and hollow steel balls 11 are packed in the packing material layer 6. This device is put in operation and when impurities in the liquid metal are deposited on surfaces of steel balls 11 in quantities, a voltage is applied to the magnetic field generator 14 to stirr the liquid metal and steel balls 11, removing the impurities. Then, the impurities are discharged through the drain pipe 13.</p> |
