PURPOSE:To perform optical transmission efficiently among a lot of stations, by arranging a lot of optical couplers having a lot of branching ports on main line ports. CONSTITUTION:A lot of photocouplers 7a-7n are arranged along main line ports 5a, 5b consisting of optical fibers, each photocoupler is accommodated with terminal stations 1a-1s as divided into many groups via optical transmitters 2a-2s. Each photocoupler has functions which couples optical signals incoming from terminal stations accommodated with the said coupler, e.g. 1a, 1b..., via optical transmission lines 4a, 4b..., to the ports 5a, 5b and distributes the optical signals from the ports 5a, 5b to the lines 4a, 4b..., and also couples the lines 4a, 4b... accommodated with the said coupler not through the main line ports. |
