PURPOSE:To enable a planer knife to be readily and rapidly sharpened without removing the planer knife from a rotor by inserting a sharpening gauge to provide a sharpening angle between the planer knife and the rotor and rotating the rotor in the opposite direction at low speed. CONSTITUTION:When a planer knife fixing bolt 2 is loosened, a planer knife 1 is pushed up by a spring 3. A sharpening gauge 4 is inserted between the planer knife 1 and a rotor 5 to fastening the bolt 2 and provide a sharpening angle. While the rotor 5 is rotated in the opposite direction to that in cutting at low speed, an abrasive 6 is lightly applied to the planer knife for sharpening it. |
