<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a deodorizing apparatus having excellent deodorizing capacity and simple in operation and maintenance, by generating corona discharge by using a porous electrode to adsorb and oxidize a malodor. CONSTITUTION:Negative voltage is applied to a porous electrode 1 having a large surface area comprising a carbon rod or a conductive synthetic resin by a power unit 2 and negative corona discharge is generated between the electrode 1 and an earth 3. A malodor such as NH3 generated from a body 4 to be treated arranged on the earth 3 through an insulating support material 5 is oxidized and deodorized by nascent oxygen generated by decomposing O3 generated by discharge. At the same time, the malodor is adsorbed by the porous electrode 1 and the adsorption the oxidation is also generated on the electrode 1 and the decomposition of the malodor is promoted.</p> |
