In a process for preparing a hot- dip zinc plated steel sheet, the improvement which comprises using a plating bath consisting essentially of 0.35 - 3.0 %Al, 0.15 - 1.0% Mg and not more than 0.015% Pb, the remainder being Zn and incidental impurities. The plating bath per se is also claimed. Plated sheets thus obtained are superior to those obtained using a conventional plating bath both in corrosion resistance and in surface appearance without sacrificing workability. |
