The invention is based on an electrical switch, especially for a central door-locking system in motor vehicles. This switch has a contact support on which a plurality of stationary contacts are seated, and a switching element which can move with respect to the contact support and by which at least one contact link can be controlled, by means of which at least two of the stationary contacts can be stressed in a specific direction. In order to be able to produce a left-hand and a right-hand version of such a switch with as many identical parts as possible, it is proposed according to the invention that both the contact support and the switching element be constructed in each case symmetrically with respect to a central plane to which the specific direction is at right angles. The different switch versions can then be obtained just by different fitment of the contact support and of the switching element, and by mirror-image mounting of these parts.
