Separator for removing entrained liq. from steam comprises a vertical riser tube with top cap & lower end inlet, and opening(17) adjacent to the cap & a vertical flat baffle(21) from one edge of the opening towards the tube center. A vertical curved wall(23) is on the outer side of the tube contiguous with it, adjacent to the opening & spaced further from the tube as it passes the opening. The contour, extent & location of the curved wall, is such that mixt. is compressed against it and remains on it for a sufficient time to effectively separate & provent re-entrainment of liq. & gas. There is an alongate hub(19) in the tube center from the cap to below the lower edge of the opening.
