<p>PURPOSE:To easily perform the operations of maintenance and inspection for a position detection device, by providing a storing space of a cable used for the position detecting device to the bottom of a piston of a hydraulic rolling down device in a rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:In a housing 1 of a steel plate rolling mill such as a strip mill or a plate mill, a hydraulic screw down device 6 of fixed position, moving cylinder type is provided to the space between bearing boxes 3 of a lower back up roll 5 and the housing 1. A magnetic position detecting device 9 is attached to the center of the device 6 constituted of a fixed piston 8 and a cylinder 7 to transmit a position detecting signal, as an electrical signal, to a controlling device by a cable 10. In this case, as the device 9 is drawn out together with the cable 10 and the cable 10 forms loops naturally in a space 12, in inserting, by providing said cable storing space 12 formed by boring a hole in the bottom of the piston 8, the operations of maintenance and inspection are easily performed.</p> |
