[Also in Division B1] A valve for dispensing beverages in the form of a carbonated liquid mixed with a syrup, comprises a body 15, 16 containing the valve, and a delivery portion including a mixing spout 13, spaced from the body 15, 16, the delivery portion being connected to the body by ducting. The delivery portion has an upstanding post comprising a cylindrical part 57 and a part 58 of rectangular section. An ornamental shroud member 14 has a body portion 59 which is a sliding fit on the post whereby it is located for easy removal and cleaning. An upstanding ornamental blade part 60 of the shroud member may bear indicia protected by an overlay 76 of plastics material. Two identical valve members are provided. Each consists of a valve member 25 of rubber or rubber-like material moulded to a metal blade 30. This blade itself is moulded into an annular sealing member 27 or 28 also of rubber or like material and which is clamped between the body parts 15, 16. This sealing member as shown is of somewhat diamondshaped section and the lateral edges of the section locate in grooves 33, 34 in the body parts. The blade extends to form an operating lever covered at the end with a button 32 of plastics material. Normally both valves are actuated together by a handle 35 pivoted at 36 and which engages two separately pivoted plates (38, 38'), Fig. 7 (not shown), which in turn engage the buttons 32. The syrup, controlled by valve 25, goes through a duct (44) which connects the valve outlet to a central delivery tube 53 coaxial with the nozzle 13. The carbonated liquid, controlled by the second valve, goes through a second duct 48 connecting the valve outlet with a chamber 46. This chamber communicating with the nozzle 13 through passages 50, and the nozzle form a mixing chamber. The carbonated liquid valve may be actuated independently by a handle (78) which rocks a finger (91), Fig. 7, engaging the plate 38<SP>1</SP>.</p> |
