PURPOSE:To obtain a lightweight drum-shaped image retaining body capable of regulating the temp. by forming a drum-shaped substrate with an endless belt having 0.01-2mm. thickness manufactured by an electroforming method and by attaching a heating element to the inside of the substrate. CONSTITUTION:A drum-shaped substrate 1 is formed with an endless belt of Al or the like having 1mm. thickness manufactured by an electroforming method. The substrate 1 is set to a shaft 3 by means of edge holding members 2, 2' (flanges). A photoconductive layer 4 of Se-Te is vacuum-deposited on the substrate 1, and a flat heating element 9 and a thermostat 10 are attached to the inside of the substrate 1. The element 9 is connected to a power source 12 with slip rings 5a, 5b and brushes 11a, 11b, and the temp. is controlled to 30 deg.C by the thermostat 10. Thus, a drum-shaped image retaining body provided with the heating element 9 on the inside of the substrate 1 is obtd. |
