PURPOSE:To facilitate the distance measurement to an object, by providing an optical image detecting means, which is provided so as to face a light projecting image on the object of a light projecting means, an angle detecting means, and a data processing device, which receives the output of the image detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A first light beam 3, which is projected from first spot light source 2, forms its optical image 3b. An optical image 5b is formed by a second light beam 5 from a second spot light source 4. Since the second light source 4 is moved by a driving device 6, the second optical images 5b is moved back and forth within the light projecting range 8 on the object 1. During this movement, it can be overlapped with the first optical image 3a at a specified light projecting angle. When the distance between the distance sensor and the object 1 is changed, the light projecting angle, at which the second optical image 5b is overlapped on the first optical image 3a, is changed. Said light projecting angle is detected by an encoder 7 which is coupled with a light projecting angle changing axis, and the result is outputted as specifically coded angular data. |
